The environment of our water sports campsite

Belt-Schutsloot
The campsite is located in the picturesque little water village Belt-Schutsloot, in the middle of the reed countryside. This characteristic water village has a lot to offer the tourist. You get a good impression when you travel through the village and in the National Park "Weerribben Wieden" by whisper boat or canoe or use the beautiful walking and cycling routes. We offer bikes for rent. The village has nice restaurants by the water.

Every year on the 2nd Friday in August an illuminated carnival ride on the water (most beautiful of N.W. Overijssel) and a folklore festival is held the following day.

The further environment
In the area you have all possibilities in the field of water sports. The water village of Giethoorn is the place for water sports and cruises. Old towns worth seeing are Blokzijl, Hasselt, Vollenhove and Zwartsluis. You were never bored here!

"Thursday-Meppel Day" takes place in Meppel in July and August. This is a tourist event that can be visited on six consecutive Thursdays. Every Thursday-Meppel day has its own theme. Be surprised!

In the Staphorst you will find traditional costumes and old farms. In the cozy village of Havelt you can go for sheep herds, dolmens and beautiful nature.

In addition to the towns and villages full of culture, you can also visit the beautiful forests. Think of the old Voorsterbos or the Jongbos and Waterloopbos - you won't find such a forest anywhere!
